I think your premise is wrong though. Rory always seemed like her academic success drive was self-initiated. In fact her mother some times makes fun of how extreme she is with it. I'm guessing she grew up living in the inn, seeing a lot of kids her age but not having any long standing friends until later in life with Lane, so she was left with books and gained a thirst for knowledge. When she realized her aptitude she wanted to go to an Ivy league and just happened to choose Harvard.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I have 87 likes… My like page will only show me seven of them (or, however many likes that I have, minus 80).

It will not load the rest of my likes but I know they’re there … I tried checking my Chrome settings, disabling my extensions, nothing. I tried sending in a report to Tumblr Support …nothing.

Is anyone else having this problem, or have found a solution? Please help me!

The extensions I have on my Chrome Browser, by the way, are Tumblr Savior, Norton Identity Safe, and AdBlock Plus.

I think it's because she wanted Rory to have the best of the best like what she COULD have had. But since Yale for Rory would have been what Richard and Emily would have wanted just like for Lorelai, Harvard was the next best choice as one of the most prestigious schools in the country. That's why she was so upset when she found out that Rory ended up applying to Yale thinking that Richard and Emily pushed/guilted her into it since Lorelai didn't do what they wanted when she was growing up.

I think Lorelai went from Yale to Harvard because Lorelai was much younger and naive when she was little and playing with Richard's diploma. She wanted to go to Yale because that's what Daddy wanted, but this was before she realized her life was being controlled by her parents and she had no freedom in her life. She didn't want Rory going there because it reminded her of her own childhood. She gave Rory freedom to live her life but I don't think she was a bitch for wanting Rory to choose Harvard

Wasn’t there one episode where Richard was talking about how Lorelai used to roll up his diploma and walking around going, “Daddy, I’m going to Yale!”

Like I have NO idea where this Harvard thing came from. I mean if Lorelai had wanted to go to Harvard to start then things might be different but did she REALLY have to go out of her way for Rory to NOT go to Yale?

I mean think about it - Lorelai has been piping this dream into Rory’s head since she was like three, before Rory was even old enough to understand what the hell was going on within her family.

I mean when Rory was growing up who’s to say that going to Yale would have even crossed her mind? Or even Harvard?
